Shillingford Consulting Group LLC, is led by Dawud “D.K.” Shillingford is an accredited VA claims agent and former government contracting professional who provides exceptional support and consultant services to veterans hoping to successfully file a disability claim and obtain their deserved benefits. Mr. Shillingford has advised over 2 thousand veterans, successfully navigating the benefits submission process.
In addition, Dawud offers more than 28 years of diverse experience in overseeing contract management. He offers comprehensive knowledge and extensive experience drafting complex contracts, executing cradle-to-grave requirements, source selection procedures, negotiations, acquisition processes, and small business growth.
As a former Contracting Officer for the United States Air Force (USAF), Mr. Shillingford has written, reviewed, and awarded contracts valued from $150,000 to $4.5 Billion. In addition, he has personally led or managed over 50 competitive government source selections within operational, contingency, systems, and research and development contracting. This experience has made him a veritable expert in a series of acquisition regulations such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFARS), Air Force Federal Acquisition Regulation (AFFARS), and Army Federal Acquisition Regulation (AFARS). After serving 22 years in the USAF, Mr. Shillingford, a service-disabled veteran, retired as a Major.
After retirement from the USAF, Mr. Shillingford worked at Deloitte as a Manager in the Federal Contracts Division. He has also served as a civil servant at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), leading a team of contracting specialists supporting the Information Technology Branch, and as an additional duty served as the SEC’s Small Business Specialist. His collaborative style allowed him to communicate across a disparate customer base to create rapid, effective acquisition strategies.
Mr. Shillingford received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, University Colleges, and a Master’s Degree in Public Management at the University of Maryland, College Park.
